POLARIS RFID ASSET MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
The POLARIS
software architecture
and components.
The software architecture of a standard POLARIS configuration contains the following components:
Input
- RFID printer: is controlled via HERTZ Middleware and used to program and print RFID tags.
- RFID reading points: are controlled via HERTZ Middleware and used to automatically move detected assets.
- RFID handhelds: allow the user to pick, move,… assets via RFID (and barcode).
- Website: is used for master data management and for gaining insight in the history and current status of the asset pool.
- RFID gates: hardware controlled via HERTZ Middleware, allowing the user to pick, move,… assets via RFID (and barcode).
Central website / service
- Provides communication between the other components.
- Keeps a history of all actions in a database.
- Provides the management of master data.
- Usually runs in the (Azure) cloud but can also be installed on-premise on a Windows server.
Rest API
- Provides the integration with POLARIS.
- Assets and orders can be imported.
- Results of actions can be retrieved.
- Master data (such as locations) can be managed.
Data exchange
POLARIS can also provide the transmission of data to external software packages (MES, WMS, ERP systems…).
