We talk with Sabine Cappaert, secretary, who has seen Aucxis develop from a small company to a valued international player during her 32-year career.

A caring administrative jack-of-all-trades

Working as a receptionist, Sabine is one of the first contacts within the company. She helps visitors or people calling Aucxis in a professional, friendly and sometimes even creative way. “Particularly in case of an urgent call, it is important to stay in control and to help the caller in a positive and calm manner”, Sabine says. “A good reception of our business contacts is my ultimate goal: even if I have to change meeting rooms and arrange catering for unexpected visitors, they may not notice this.”

Furthermore, Sabine handles several other administrative tasks, including processing orders and managing maintenance contracts.

Sabine Cappaert:
I couldn't do without the social aspect of my job. And thanks to my varied range of tasks, no day is the same.

Communication and continuous learning are key

Sabine gets great satisfaction out of the social aspect of her job. “I couldn’t do without the human contact, and of course it is nice to see when a visitor or caller really appreciates the way he is being helped,” says Sabine. “Thanks to my varied range of tasks, no day is the same: one minute I’m on the phone with the local sandwich bar to arrange lunch, the next I’m talking to a potential customer from far beyond Europe.”

“The international vibe of the company is a great asset to me. After my studies, I worked in Antwerp for a while, but it is such a pleasure to feel like a world citizen after a ten-minute bike ride from home to the office.”

The continuous technological progress within Aucxis is an exciting challenge that Sabine eagerly takes on. “Since Aucxis develops and realises innovative solutions, I find it important to keep up with the developments. That is why I am a fan of our Lunch & Learn events during which products and projects are explained to the staff over a sandwich and a drink.”

Relaxing

Sabine’s fondness for social contact, knowledge and variety is also reflected in her hobbies. “Photography and dance are my passions. I let out my creativity in photography, and dancing is just the best sport ever. Together with my husband I dance all kinds of styles, from Viennese waltz to acrobatic Rock & Roll. Boredom is not in my vocabulary”, she concludes.
