Jasper Vandevelde, Project Engineer in the RFID team, talks enthusiastically about the evolution of his tasks and working at Aucxis.

From Project Engineer to …

In 2016, Jasper obtained his Master in Industrial Science, specialising in Electronics. In October 2017, he started his career at Aucxis. As a Project Engineer, he was responsible for ordering, configuring, installing and on-site testing of RFID hardware. Today, he is also part of the POC team which performs on-site feasibility studies in order to find out whether a specific RFID application is economically and technically viable. His experience and skills are also reflected in his role as hardware architect, where he contributes to the concept development in the presales phase of a project. He also takes care of making technical drawings for ongoing projects. He’s a busy bee…!

Jasper Vandevelde:
"The challenges of the job, the space for personal input and the collegiality make working at Aucxis interesting and enjoyable for me.”

Challenges bring satisfaction

Jasper takes on the challenges that his job offers with great enthusiasm. Finding the best RFID application for a customer’s problem is what drives him. “Being able to deliver a well-functioning installation which offers a great added value to the customer gives me the greatest satisfaction in my job”, Jasper tells with a twinkle in his eyes.

During the installation of a project, he also needs to use his creativity. “Sometimes an unexpected situation arises, no matter how well-prepared you are. At these moments, it is a must to keep calm and to be flexible. And if you need help, colleagues are there for you. The challenges of the job, the space for personal input and the collegiality make working at Aucxis interesting and enjoyable for me.”

The diversity makes it attractive

“Another thing that I really like is the diversity of my job. Not only my tasks but also the customers’ business activity offers enormous variety. A metal-processing company in Genk, a flower auction in Hyères, a delicacies manufacturer in Wallonia, a transport company in Lyon, a rental company in Berlin,… Although the processes to be automated within companies are often similar, each sector does involve specific problems and challenges.”
